00:00small village in Zimbabwe called Chimanimani.
00:05I come from a small village in Zimbabwe called Chimanimani.
00:09Far away from everything.
00:11Like where the simplest of things, you know,
00:14ignites our excitement.
00:15Like they recently installed a traffic light in my village.
00:18Everybody was so excited about this traffic light,
00:20we're all taking photos with it.
00:21Oh my God!
00:22Kissing the traffic light.
00:27We don't need a traffic light in my village.
00:29We don't need, because we don't drive like you Americans.
00:32We guys drive crazy, okay?
00:34Because in my village, we drive like...
00:39Hi-ya!
00:39Hi-ya!
00:40Hi-ya!
00:41Canada!
00:42Canada!
00:43Canada!
00:44Canada!
00:44Canada!
00:45That's good.
00:46Like we don't even have a good cell phone reception.
00:48If you want to call someone,
00:50you have to climb a mountain first.
00:52When you're on top of that mountain,
00:54you finally call the person like,
00:56Simon!
00:57Simon!
00:58Simon!
00:59Simon!
01:03My village is interesting, man,
01:04our people are so old school.
01:06We don't even use social media.
01:07To view someone's photos,
01:09you have to visit their house first.
01:11Walking around the house,
01:13you know, looking at all the photos in the house,
01:14I like this one.
01:17Ooh and I like this one.
01:20I would like to share this one.
01:26Yeah!
01:28Yeah!
01:29But now I'm in America, man. I'm adjusting to this country, man. Everything is new to me.
01:33Like when I first came to America, I saw something I didn't know existed.
01:37I saw...
01:40poor white people.
01:44What?
01:48How is this possible?
01:51This white guy was like, can I have a daughter? I was like, I came here to ask you for a daughter. What?
02:00I started taking photos. I was like, oh my God.
02:04I was kissing him.
02:08America is new to me, man. Even the food in America. There's so much food in America.
02:13It's so big. The portions are big.
02:15The other day, an American friend of mine was like, man, I am starving.
02:20I was like, no.
02:24You are hungry, okay?
02:28Trust me, there's a difference, okay?
02:31Now, do you think when I go back to my village, you know, after experiencing this much food in America,
02:36and someone is like, man, I am hungry.
02:39I'll be like, no.
02:41You are starving, okay?
02:45We are with us forever!
02:48Everything changed in that moment.
02:51I started getting calls, doing shows, non-stop.
02:54I love you, man.
02:55So I promised myself, if I ever win a Golden Buzzer,
02:58I am going to pick up the confetti from the stage,
03:01and then ship a confetti to everybody that has helped me in my career.
03:05A piece of confetti to Alisa.
03:07To my friend Simba.
03:09To my mom, I am so grateful.
03:11To my grandpa, thank you for always believing in me.
03:15It's Lenmo, Golden Boy.
03:18He is now on the top of the world.
03:20The person that really inspired me to become a comedian I am today is my grandfather.
03:24I remember this particular day, my grandfather was stressed
03:27on where he is going to get money to buy food.
03:30And then he turned on this small black and white TV,
03:33and there was comedy, and he started laughing.
03:36So I fell in love with that, and I was like to myself,
03:39I want to make people feel the same way.
03:42To prepare for tonight's show, I have been doing shows all over America,
03:46and I spoke to Preacher Lawson and Mike Winfield.
03:49Any advice for me?
03:51Don't lose.
03:53I want to be the first comedian to win America's Got Talent.
03:57The next letter I mail to my grandfather is going to have money in it.
04:16Hello everybody!
04:20Oh my God, man, I'm so excited to be here.
04:24I got some good news for you, I just got my green card, everybody.
04:28Yes! It's exciting, man.
04:31Here's the thing, as soon as I got my green card,
04:33I found myself becoming so American after that.
04:36Yeah, yeah, like I even have an allergy now.
04:41Yeah, I now have a gluten allergy.
04:46It came with the green card, okay?
04:49They actually made me choose between a gluten allergy and anxiety.
04:54I was like, give me both, okay? They sound nice.
04:58Because where I come from, having an allergy is for the wealthy, okay?
05:02You know, it's a sign that you can afford it, okay?
05:06I told my cousin I was allergic to gluten, he was like, congratulations.
05:10I'm so happy for you, wow!
05:14But my grandfather, he doesn't get it.
05:16I was like to my grandfather, grandpa, I'm now allergic to gluten.
05:19My grandfather was like, I have always known that you are gay.
05:22I was like, wait, what?
05:25No, I'm not gay!
05:27My aunt was like, it's okay, Len Mao, just know that in college,
05:30I was also a little bit gluten-free myself.
05:38No!
05:41But I think it's your food.
05:43I think your food is too complicated for me.
05:45Because the other day, I bought chicken.
05:47On the box of the chicken, it was listed skinless, boneless,
05:51sliced, marinated, pre-cooked, microwave-ready chicken.
05:57How lazy are you, Americans?
06:01It's ridiculous, because where I come from,
06:04eating chicken is a four-day operation.
06:07Yeah, because you have to catch it first, okay?
06:10And the chicken does not trust anyone.
06:12It's also because I'm like...
06:15This is why I'm skinny, because I've been catching my own chicken, you know?
06:19Yeah, look at some of you Americans.
06:21I can tell none of you have ever caught your own chicken.
06:23I'm just saying, I'm just saying.
06:25I'm just saying.
06:31I'm just saying.
06:33I'm just saying.
06:35I'm just saying.
06:37I'm just saying.
06:39I'm just saying.
06:41I'm just saying.
06:44I'm going to leave you with this.
06:46You see, many people always ask me,
06:48is Learn More your real name?
06:50Is Learn More your real name?
06:52Yes, because Zimbabweans, we believe,
06:54if you give your child a name,
06:56they will become what you named them.
06:58So my name is Learn More.
07:00I love learning new things.
07:02My mother's name is Memory.
07:04She never forgets.
07:06Yeah, my father's name is Absent.
07:09Oops.
07:13I'm joking.
07:15I'm joking.
07:17His name is John, okay?
07:19Yeah, John Doe.
07:21I don't know him.
07:23Thank you very much.
07:25My name is Learn More.
07:27I appreciate you guys.
07:35Learn More.
07:37Janassi.
07:39He's my golden mother.
07:42Sofia.
07:45Oh, my God.
07:47You are funny.
07:49A funny person.
07:51I love that your comedy is so joyful.
07:55And relatable.
07:57And you're so beautiful to look at.
07:59Thank you very much.
08:01I think people are going to love you tonight
08:03because I loved you.
08:07I love you, too.
08:09You're one of the best contestants,
08:11acts, human beings,
08:13whatever you want to call it.
08:15Honestly, this year.
08:17There's something about you
08:19when you perform,
08:21which is we all feel that we really
08:23know you, you know?
08:25And the more that we see, the more...
08:27But, yeah, and that, I think,
08:29is your appeal.
08:31You're just a naturally funny person.
08:33I think what you do is unique.
08:35It's memorable.
08:37And I think you've got a real career
08:39ahead of you. I don't know what you're saying.
08:41It sounds like a cliche.
08:43Howie, you know comedy.
08:45I agree. I don't know better than anybody.
08:47I know what I like, and I know
08:49what the world is loving.
08:51They're loving you. You are so likable.
08:53You are so physical.
08:55And what people don't understand,
08:57to be able to come from another country,
08:59a whole other culture,
09:01and touch the funny bone
09:03of everybody in a totally different country
09:05at every age, is magic.
09:07And you, sir, are magic.
09:09Thank you! Heidi!
09:11I love your enthusiasm.
09:13You really light up the stage.
09:15You made us all laugh. Thank you so much.
09:17You were fantastic. I appreciate you.
09:19To be able to touch the funny bone
09:21of everybody in a totally different country
09:23is magic.
09:25And you, sir, are magic.
09:27Learn more, Janessa!
09:29Learn more, Janessa! What?
09:31You gotta just get your material out there.
09:33Stage time is key.
09:35Are you working the clubs here in L.A.?
09:37I haven't gotten in. I'm trying to.
09:39When I moved from Zimbabwe
09:41to Pennsylvania, I tried
09:43performing, but they didn't let me in
09:45because they didn't even know who I was.
09:47I had to knock on every
09:49single door of every
09:51single comedy club.
09:53But after my two performances so far,
09:55I can see the doors opening.
09:57But was there like lions in Zimbabwe?
09:59Yes, there were lions in Zimbabwe.
10:01Are you afraid of the lion?
10:03Yes!
10:07I'm the only comedian in the semifinals.
10:09There's too much pressure.
10:11So I'm taking Howie's advice
10:13and I start writing, developing
10:15bit by bit, and I'm going out there
10:17to practice my material.
10:19Winning America's Got Talent
10:21is going to open so many doors for me.
10:23They're gonna let me in.
10:25They'll beg me into the club.
10:27I'm ready. I'm ready.
10:31Give it up for
10:33Learn More Janassi!
10:47Hello everybody!
10:51Yeah!
10:53I love it, man. I love it.
10:55So good to be back.
10:57So good to be back. Listen, I've been learning
10:59a lot about American culture
11:01by watching American movies.
11:03And I've noticed every time when America makes a movie
11:05about Africa, it doesn't make sense
11:07to Africans.
11:09Yeah, I was watching The Lion
11:11King the other day. I was like,
11:13why do these lions have American
11:15accents?
11:17And they're like, in Africa!
11:19And here's the messed
11:21up part. The only animal
11:23they gave an accent was
11:25the monkey.
11:27What?
11:29Yeah!
11:31And it was Caribbean. What is this?
11:35What kind of Africa is this, you know?
11:37But I'll give them this though.
11:39The only accent that made sense to me as an African
11:41was Scar's accent.
11:43Because he was British
11:45and he wanted land. I was like, ha ha!
11:47That sounds
11:49very familiar.
11:51We've been there before.
11:54Oh my God, man.
11:56I love America. I'm realizing that
11:58I wish I had the life of
12:00your dogs in America.
12:02Oh my God!
12:04If African dogs find out how
12:06your dogs are living,
12:08yeah, you're going to have an
12:10immigration problem very soon, I'm telling you.
12:13Dogs will be coming to America
12:15on a canoe.
12:23It's crazy. The other day I was just taking a walk,
12:25enjoying my day. Then I saw
12:27a dog in a stroller.
12:29Yeah, it was just
12:31chilling right there, enjoying its life.
12:33Look at me like I was
12:35just a peasant for just
12:37walking.
12:39It was rough. Oh, that's rough.
12:41Rough.
12:43And the lady was like, so this is my dog.
12:45His name is
12:47Mozzarella.
12:49He's like a rescue.
12:51But I just think he rescued me.
12:57He's like 90% Australian shepherd.
13:01Do you have a dog? I was like, yeah.
13:03I have a dog in Zimbabwe.
13:05What breed is it?
13:07I was like, I think mine is just brown.
13:11Yeah, I think that's the name of the breed.
13:13Brown dog.
13:15And then she's like,
13:17can I see a photo?
13:19Can I see a photo of your dog?
13:21I don't have a photo of my dog.
13:23Because my dog
13:25is an employee.
13:27Yeah, it works for me.
13:29It hunts for us. It protects our security.
13:31Do you think
13:33Simon Cowell has pictures
13:35of his employees on his phone?
13:41Do you?
13:43Do you?
13:45Show us your phone.
13:47Do you think he's out there
13:49cheating with his friends?
13:51He pulls out his phone and he's like, guys, look at this.
13:53This is Howie.
13:55Oh my God.
13:59He's a rescue.
14:03Oh my God.
14:05He's like 100% Canadian.
14:09Yeah, we just got him neutered recently.
14:11Oh my God.
14:13Thank you very much.
14:21My golden buzzer.
