Rally in Support of Nafissatou Diallo: August 23, New York

New York, August 23, 2011--At an 8:30am rally outside Manhattan Criminal Court on 100 Centre Street, supporters of Nafissatou Diallo, accuser in the People vs Dominique Strauss-Kahn, urge prosecutor Cyrus Vance Jr not to dismiss the sexual assault and attempted rape charges against Dominiqtue Strauss-Kahn, former managing director of the IMF. Judge Michael Obus refused a request from the plaintiff's attorney to appoint a special prosecutor in the case. At the 11:30 hearing, Obus dismissed all charges. Howevr, a civil suit against DSK was filed on August 8 in Bronx County Court; on his return to France, DSK is also facing sexual assault charges during an interview brought by writer Tristane Banon.
