Korn (parfois typographié KoЯn pour coller au logo officiel) est considéré comme le groupe à l'origine du mouvement que l'on appelle néo metal, avec Deftones notamment. Le groupe a été fondé en 1993 à Bakersfield, banlieue de Los Angeles, É.-U.. Groupe forgé à la scène, Korn fait plusieurs concerts avant d'être repéré par Ross Robinson qui sera leur premier producteur. Korn sort son premier album intitulé Korn de manière quelque peu confidentielle en 1994. Il connaît progressivement un engouement certain et Korn devient la figure de proue des nouveaux groupes de metal, aux côtés des Deftones. Proposant une musique aux ambiances dépressives et oppressantes et des textes à la limite de la névrose, Korn est un groupe très controversé.

"Evolution", directed by Dave Meyers, was filmed on June 15, 2007 in Los Angeles. The music video features Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. According to the casting call sheet, "Evolution" is "filled with political satire and humor." The production team sought mostly male actors to fill roles such as "hero scientists", religious politicians, doctors, green peace guys, anthropologists, military men, and "government types". Casting interviews were held June 12 and 13, 2007.
