Rose Room Warren Earl 1961
This is one of the nicer Rose Rooms I had in my collection. Funny though, I must have this film for more than 15 years on my video shelves. Just today I noticed these 2 films of Buck Clayton's All Stars from 1961 taped somewhere in Belgium. Always feels so good to hear these fantastic performances by the masters of early jazz and swing. A feature away from Buck's full session group showcases Earl Warren, this time on clarinet with Emmett Berry on muted trumpet. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did to hear and see it again after quite a few years .
The wonderful rhythm group is with Sir Charles Thompson on piano, great old fashioned slap style at times from Gene Ramey on bass and exciting drumwork by Oliver Jackson
