Emma Beau's latest musical endeavor "Samuel" verges on the experimental in comparison with her earlier work. Weaving together her stylistic interpretation of modern alternative, folk and pop music, Samuel is a beautifully crafted masterpiece of lyrical and musical prowess.
Emerging from the rural town of Gympie, QLD, Emma embarked on a one way trip to Sydney in 2011, to write and record her first EP under the name Emma Barlow. The EP charted at #26 on the iTunes pop charts, #11 on Foxtel's CMC Top 30 Countdown, and within numerous top 10's on Australian radio.
Capturing the attention of Australian music icon Jon English, Emma toured nationally with Jon as a vocalist and violinist in his Rock Revolution tour.
Emma's version of 'House of the Rising Sun' simply reached into my soul and made every other version I have ever heard, pale by comparison and her mastery of the violin had a chance to truly shine with an amazing performance in 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' -- Sharyn Hamey, Rock Club 40, Jon English State Theatre Show 2013.
Immediately feeling at home on the road, Emma immersed herself in songwriting, dedicated to refining her craft and maturing as an artist. Finding her musical tastes drifting towards a more contemporary, unconventional style, Emma was at a loss about how best to present her new music to the world. So began the transformation of Emma Barlow into Emma Beau, and the birth of her first creation, "Samuel".
Emma Beau is a star that is about to shine a whole lot brighter. Her vocal, her music and her image have the quality that's needed - John Bromell, former managing director of Warner/Chappell Music.
