  • 10 anni fa
Island of Newfoundland. Located south of Labrador, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Canada. Discovered in 1497 by John Cabot, belongs to the Arctic environment because of the cold Labrador current which conveys icebergs and pack from Greenland and the polar icecap. The inhabitants are mostly fishermen, the fauna is formed by colonies of seabirds that exceed one million heads, numerous whales (humpbacks) attend the coasts in the summer. The landscape has wavy shapes caused by thick ice cap up to 800 m. covering the island during the last ice age.
