The Shoos got together organically in 2007 and recorded a 4 track EP called "Yeah". On releasing this EP the band caught the attention of American A&R man James Mormile from Interscope records, and in particular the song "Distance" which was released in May 2009 which got to no.1 in Ireland.
With this Interest being shown from the U.S Universal Ireland snapped up the band for their debut Album, which was called "Rescue Room".
The very successful launch of rescue room got the Shoos to no.1 in the album chart in Ireland and earned them a place touring Europe with American giants "One Republic" as their support slot and also support dates with "Maroon 5", "Lifehouse" and "Taylor Hawkins."
The Shoos packed their bags and headed out to L.A and New York to do showcase gigs for the major labels in the Viper Room and Arlene's grocery among other famous venues stateside. Interscope records in turn offered the band a development deal in October 2011, which was to start in May 2012.
Unfortunately due to Interscope's roster of bands being cleared out this deal went asunder in favour of putting all it's efforts into "American Idol" much to the bands chagrin. Picking themselves up from this knock back and dusting off the debris the band came back the right way, which was to write a new album.
This album was independently released in September 2012 to widespread acclaim in Ireland. "Panic Slowly" the album documented some of their time in America and opened with the anthemic "Say Something" as lead single with the strong and poignant "Same as Me" and beautiful ballad "Battlescars" following it up.
All three singles garnered the Shoos some serious radio play across Ireland. While their debut albums "Long Way Down" single is still being heard on a daily basis
In April 2013 Barry Plunkett left the band for pastures new, and was replaced by new lead guitarist Joe O'Connor and the bands first full time drummer in Bobby Vickers who both hail from Wicklow town. The lads have been a great fresh impetuous on The Shoos and have fit in like they were always in the band.
The First Single from the new album (untitled as yet) The Shoos 3rd Studio Album is "Hook line & Sinker" and is released on November 1st 2013 with a great animation video all the way from Barcelona, Spain. This was the bands first foray into Animation and are delighted with the results.
