IRON BUTTERFLY 1968 1969

Iron Butterfly were a psychedelic progressive rock band hailing from the
USA. Formed in 1966, their stock in trade sound was a heavy spread out
beat as epitomised by their second record 'In - A - Gadda - Da - Vida'
(In The Garden Of Eden), which was a multi million smash in 1968.
Doug Ingle, Ron Bushy, Darryl Weiss, Jerry Penrod and Darryl De Loach were in the early line-up. But that was not the seminal moment for the Group: Eric Braun and Lee Dorman were brought in to replace the last three, and that was the beginning of the weird and wonderful 'IN -A
GADDA - LA - VIDA'. The follow-up 'It Must Be Love' and 'Soul Experience' which were experimental pieces deserved more kudos for innovation. Altogether through a revolving line-up, a great late sixties sound.
