'Filthy' Sabarmati river make suicidal rescue operations difficult - Tv9 Gujarati

Ahmedabad: Back in 2010, the river was branded as the third most polluted in the country by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and now, it has become a new 'suicide hotspot' after Kankaria lake. The officials of Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) have swung into action following increasing numbers of suicide into Sabarmati river. Unfortunately, it has become a difficult task for firemen to carry out rescue operations due to polluted water and filth all around.
