The entry level Kwid hatchback has launched in India by Renault at an ex-showroom price of Rs.2.57 lakh. A total of six variants including two optionals would be offered to the customers. In the Indian market the Kwid would have to fight for survival against the likes of Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.
The Kwid is the first Renault car in India to be based on the modular CMF-A platform. On the outside, the Kwid is surely an impressive looking car with black grille and SUV like headlights. In fact, from the front the Kwid looks like a mini SUV. Renault is offering personalization option with this vehicle to its customers where the style quotient could be taken a notch higher.
Currently, Kwid will be offered with petrol only with the engine being a 799cc three-cylinder one with a peak output of 523bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm. Mileage of the new Kwid is 25.1kmpl.
