Argentina: La Nacional Editorial Seeks to Make New Gov't Tow The Line

Yesterday's editorial in the conservative Argentine daily La Nacional published hours after the release of presidential election results was aimed at forcing the new government headed by Mauricio Macri to "tow the line". The editorial called on Macri to drop prosecution of military officials accused of human rights violations under the military dictatorship. The new government will face uphill battles, as its margin of victory was 3%, far from the predicted 10% to 15%, and it will not have a majority in either house of Congress.
