Soraya Sikander is one of today’s leading contemporary South Asian artists. Known for her landscapes and organic forms, the artist has been ranked as one of Pakistan’s best known painters making it big internationally, listed as ‘Artist to watch’. Soraya works in oil on canvas, ink on paper and is known for her environmentally conscious sculptural installations produced from found and recycled objects. Soraya Sikander has held over twelve international group and solo exhibitions – these have gained her critical acclaim and commercial success. The artist studied academic drawing at the London Atelier of Representational Art, produced anthropomorphic sculptures at UCL’s Slade summer school and graduated from Beaconhouse National University. Soraya is a TEDx art speaker. Her work has been reviewed by major magazines and newspapers including: HELLO!, Khaleej Times, Gulf Today, Gulf News, Islamic Arts Magazine etc. She is renowned for the ‘IN, AT, AROUND’ series.
