Art Agents Gallery represents artists William Anastasi, Johanna Domke, Nikolay Recke, Marco P. Schaefer, Markus Vater, Ene-Liis Semper and Karsten Ewert. Co-Director Nasim Weiler talks about the gallery’s program and the artist Markus Vater. Vater is a young German artist living in London. The gallery exhibits drawings and his “soulsculptures” photographs. The gallery was founded in Hamburg in 2000 by Julia Sökeland and Nasim Weiler. With their gallery they want to establish a space where a lively dialog about contemporary art takes place. Scope Art Fair, New York, March 12, 2006.

00:07 And we have a gallery for contemporary, young contemporary international art in Hamburg.
00:13 We are the first time here at Scope Art Fair in New York. We like it very much.

01:07 One of the major featured artists is a German artist named Markus Vater.
01:13 He lives and works in London.
01:15 And we have his drawings behind me.
01:19 They are very recent.
01:24 And a special project are his soul sculptures,
01:28 which he realized in collaboration with the Center of Attention in London,
01:35 where he was asked to realize a project in interaction, in communication with the visitors of the centers.
01:43 And he decided to visit people in their homes to catch their souls and portray their souls.
01:51 So these are his soul sculptures.
