BRISTOW, VIRGINIA — A northern Virginia taekwondo teacher was charged with felony child abuse on Wednesday after allegedly knocking a five-year-old student out, according to a Washington Post report.
Justin Branick, an assistant instructor at Tiger Martial Arts Academy in Bristow was teaching a class on Tuesday when one of his students reportedly made him angry.
The exact cause of the 21-year-old's vexation is unclear, but Branick reportedly grabbed the unidentified student by the ankle and threw him over his shoulder.
The boy was hurled to the ground and lost consciousness. The minor was hospitalized and treated for serious injuries.
Authorities were tipped off to Branick's actions by one of his colleagues who called them early Wednesday morning, according to the Post.
Branick was promptly arrested and charged later that day. Bail was set to $5,000.
