MARTINSVILLE, INDIANA — Four years after 20-year-old Lauren Spierer went missing, the FBI and Bloomington police raided a home in Indiana’s Morgan County in connection with her disappearance. Now investigators plan to speak to Justin Wagers, who used to live in the property and was arrested last August in an indecent exposure case. They believe him to be linked to the case.
Spierer disappeared on June 3, 2011, after a night out with some friends in downtown Bloomington during which she was never more than a few blocks from her apartment. That night she went home alone from a friend’s house who saw her walking away and turning a street corner. After that, he never saw her again.
Spierer’s case became very popular in the US. She was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” and appeared on billboards and various news articles, the Indianapolis Star reported. No arrest was made after her disappearance.
Wagers, whose charges range from public indecency to vicarious sexual gratification and intimidation, is also believed to be connected to the disappearance of two more people.
