TIMERGARA: Prominent poet, writer and scholar Prof Abaseen Yousafzai on Sunday asked poets and writers to utilize their potential for humanitarian services. He was addressing books launching ceremony held at the Fishing Hut Chakdara wherein several books of the poet and researcher Muhammad Nazir Shamozai were launched. Mr Yousafzai said that poets and writers were eyes and ears of society and they transformed social issues into their feelings. He said the poets were fulfilling the responsibility of creating love, peace, humanity and happiness among masses through their art and skill. He lauded the efforts of writer Muhammad Nazir and said that he had played his due role through his poems and writing. He termed his efforts as an addition to the Pushto literature and said the Pukhtun would be benefitted of it.
The writer of Pushto poetry and Urdu prose Muhammad Nazir Shamozai while speaking on the occasion said that human beings were flowers of God and they should be kept fresh and happy.
Local poets including Iqbal Shakir, Riaz Saghir, Muhammad Jamil Kachokhel, Tahir Altaf Sarhadi, Sajid Afghani, Bakht zamin Negar, Prof Behram and others presented their poems and got applause from the audience.
