VIDEO: FANS NAME THREE DECISIVE PLAYERS
Manchester United can end the season by lifting the FA Cup on Saturday and Reds supporters have been busy predicting which three players might inspire such a success.
When asked by our roving reporter on the Old Trafford forecourt, fans listed a variety of names as potential game-changers under the arch of the national stadium. Anthony Martial, who scored the winner against Everton in the semi-final, was interestingly the only player mentioned by everyone we asked.
David De Gea, the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, was referenced by most fans along with Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and teenage sensation Marcus Rashford.
Watch the video in the player above to see why supporters have faith in this group of players.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
As ever, we would love to hear your opinion on this matter and you can join the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #WeAreUnited. Some of the best post have already been retweeted by the club’s official account @ManUtd, while a selection of comments appear on this page below...
@McMellonLuke: Rooney pulling the strings. Martial getting in behind. De Gea being De Gea.
@Chris_Hall79: De Gea, Smalling and Martial. A clean sheet for DG with the ever solid CS in front of him, AM to bag a brace & the cup.
@Aereira: Martial with his quick-thinking and pace, De Gea coz of his saves and Rooney simply coz he is heart and soul of United.
@YashKandhari: De Gea, Martial and Smalling been out best players this season and made a lot of impact in the big matches.
@Parthruparel14: Rooney and Carrick because they can dominate midfield & Martial as he is in fantastic goalscoring form.
@TheDugganTouch: Smalling, Blind and De Gea. To have a strong defensive trio is half the battle won. All three could win us the game defensively.
@Samyali24: Martial, Rooney and Rashford.. On their day they are unplayable.
@Gangal8: Martial, Wazza and Rashford! Saw a glimpse of their link-up against BOU in that spectacular goal. Can't wait to see more!
@SarahJayneee: Fellaini, Martial and Rooney. Fellaini will be key for set pieces, Rooney to boss the midfield and Martial to do a madness.
@SonofSardar: Martial, Rooney and Mata. Pace, precision and fast-footed.
