On Wednesday, a German tourist at Machu Picchu suffered a fatal fall while attempting to get a photo of himself leaping into the air on a very high and off-limits cliff, reports the BBC.
That man has been identified as 51-year-old Oliver Park, notes Newsweek.
According to officials in Peru, Park ignored multiple warnings, including a cordon placed around the area for security purposes and fell nearly 130 feet down a ravine.
The Washington Post is reporting that "by the time rescuers reached the tourist about an hour and a half later, the man was dead."
His body was removed from the ravine and taken to a nearby morgue.
