As we get deeper into the summer, we also get deeper into new bike season! Today we got our first taste of the 2017 Yamaha YZ250F. There are changes throughout the bike though it looks as if it just got BNG. In the chassis department, the frame is stiffer around the footpegs and the motor mounts are also stiffer - the goal here is a quicker handling machine. With a stiffer chassis comes suspension changes and the KYB SSS coil spring fork received stiffer fork tubes but a lighter spring rate. With the unique backwards cylinder engine layout the Yamaha already had the air/fuel mixture coming into the cylinder at a pretty straight shot, but apparently it wasn’t straight enough. The blue engineers changed the intake ports on the cylinder head and shortened the snorkel in the air box to get the YZ-F sucking in more air quicker. There are also transmission, exhaust, and ergo changes and here is a quick video of our opinion after one day of riding. // www.DirtRider.com // Video by Jacob Johnson
