The Colombian city of Medellín was notorious for its drug violence. While the streets are far from crime-free, violence has plummeted from its high in the 1980s. That has encouraged the development of new companies, such as the ice cream factory of German immigrant Hans-Peter Bergmann. His parlour boasts all-natural flavours and it's a hit with the locals.
