High tide causes drivers to struggle in Mersea Island

Impressive aerial footage has emerged from Mersea Island, UK, of cars struggling to cross a highway flooded by a high tide.

The video, shot on November 13, shows vehicles driving along the inundated road and one of them getting stranded.

"The tide floods the road approximately 1 week every month, although during November the tides were very high," the filmer wrote online.

"The footage shows how many motorists are willing to risk getting stuck and being stranded by driving through up to 3 feet of sea water!"
