On Monday night, ThinkProgress reported it had obtained both an insider testimonial and documented evidence that members of Trump Organization allegedly applied "political pressure" on a foreign entity for the purpose of building business at its Washington, D.C. hotel. 
The Embassy of Kuwait had contractually committed to the Four Seasons as a venue for its annual National Day gathering, but has since allegedly switched the event locale to the Trump International Hotel.
According to ThinkProgress, “Kuwait cancelled with the Four Seasons a few days after the Trump International Hotel held an event for diplomats, reported the Washington Post, encouraging them to patronize the hotel.“
Donald Trump has expressed his belief that as president, he is exempted from conflicts-of-interest laws.
Though he is not held to some laws, he is subject to the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, which states the holder of the high office cannot accept money from other governments or their top-ranking officials.
Violating that clause is, according to legal experts cited by ThinkProgress, an impeachable offense. 
In regards to his business dealings at large, Trump has divulged little about his plans, but did say in a December 12 tweet, “Even though I am not mandated by law to do so, I will be leaving my busineses [sic] before January 20th so that I can focus full time on
