LAHORE: Punjab Cabinet expanded by one more member as a former colonel was made provincial minister, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Colonel (retd.) Ayub Khan Gadhi was elected into Punjab Assembly on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) from Toba Tek Singh.
Sources said that Gadhi’s brother Sardar Masood Gadhi was given the ticket to contest the local bodies election for chairman from Toba Tek Singh after which Chaudhry Asad and Khalid Warraich Group refused to support him.
Masood Gadhi was made to resign after protests by several by several members of the provincial assembly and was assured a provincial ministry.
Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan Gadhi, son of Sardar Muhammad Murad Khan Gadhi, was born on March 14, 1961 at Toba Tek Singh. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army and graduated from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul in 1980.
He has also served as a parliamentary secretary for environment.
