SAN PEDRO DE MACORIS, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — Two radio journalists were gunned down in Dominican Republic on Tuesday morning during a live news broadcast on Facebook.
The shooting took place in the FM 103.5 radio station, which is located inside a shopping mall in San Pedro de Macoris.
The producer and director of the station, Leo Martinez was shot dead in his office. Moments later, the attackers opened fire at the presenter Luis Manuel Medina.
Medina was broadcasting on Facebook Live before the shootings and the sound of gunshots were recorded in the footage before the transmission cuts off.
Three men have been arrested in connection to the shootings but none has been charged as police investigate for motives.
