WEST SULAWESI, INDONESIA — A farmer from a small town in West Sulawesi, Indonesia met a horrific end this week. On March 27, villagers pulled the corpse of 25-year-old Akbar from the bellow of a slain python, and recorded the whole thing on video.

Neighbors say Akbar has set off to harvest on the morning of March 26, and failed to return the same day.

Residents believe the snake may have attacked him as he lay down to take a nap.

Pythons kill by wrapping themselves around their prey, suffocating them. And this his how Akbar met his end.

The poor farmer was then swallowed, head to toe.

Locals formed a search party. Instead of finding their man safe and alive, they spotted the snake with an unnatural bulge along its body.

They knew then what had happened. They cut the animal open, and there it was: Akbar’s body.

May he rest in peace.
