Brendan Loughnane is one of MMA’s most respected athletes here in the UK and is now set for his very own documentary in the next instalment of “Behind The Fighter”.
In this documentary Brendan explains how his career started, took off and what the future beholds for this champion who continues to vigorously train always trying to up his game.
He started his career by sparring with his neighbour in his backyard and ten years on he has successfully fought his way to the top earning an impressive a 12 wins and 2 losses record. He is a renowned legend who has grown alongside the sport.
Starting with fire in his belly, Brendan progressively developed the skill and technique to become the fighter that he is today.
“I already had the heart, I knew I could fight but I just didn’t have the skills to back it up.”
With the help of his trainer who features in the documentary, Brendan has been able to become a technical and strong fight. In the feature both speak about the journey they have endured together over the past decade.
Each speak about the tough experience at UFC that almost saw Brendan quit fighting to his hard-core victories that have racked up the impressive 12 wins out of 14 fights. Brendan also opens up about his fight at Tankō Fighting Championships 1 which saw him face off against Eden Newton. With a sour relationship and an aggressive social media war the fight was ugly with Newton barely walking away whilst supporting a bloody face.
While Brendan states that the win was good he also admits that the fight itself was not up to his usual skilled self. He explains that the fight was personal and fuelled more by his feelings than the sport.
In an honest documentary Brendan describes how his career started, how the gym he first trained him pushed him to enter fights and how his mentor and trainer has encouraged him to keep on fighting. He conveys his entire career from his very first fight which he describes his skill set as raw to how he has developed his skills and his passion for MMA.
While he continues to fight, Brendan has also stepped into the cage to teach. Using his knowledge that he has picked up over the years from his few losses to his impressive wins, Brendan now passes all of this on to aspiring fighters.
In the future Brendan is looking to fight even more legendary fighters and hopes to get on UFC again, this time to take the win. The fight is still ongoing, with Brendan clearly pushing for more fights that challenge him and build up his reputation in the MMA community.
