Norwegian manufacturer of eco-friendly wood Kebony has been recognized as the first-ever Newcomer of the Year at the Foreign Investment Trophy 2017. Christian Jebsen, CEO at Kebony, received the trophy from Michel Casselman, General Manager at investment firm PMV.
With the support of the government of Flanders and PMV, the Norwegian wood producer invested EUR 20 million to establish its first factory outside of Norway – right here in Flanders.
At the new site, located in Kallo, sustainable alternatives for tropical hardwood will be manufactured. By giving common pine woods a patented, eco-friendly treatment, Kebony is able to mimic the textures, quality and characteristics of tropical hardwoods like teak.
