[SOT: Nancy how are you?]
We spotted Nancy Kerrigan at LAX and asked for her thoughts on the upcoming “I, Tonya” movie starring Margot Robbie as former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding.
[SOT: Nancy: I have nothing to do with that.
And they never really reached out to you huh?
Nancy: Nope.]
OK then! To be fair, the movie isn’t really about Nancy Kerrigan. But it’s hard to ignore the connection. Afterall, she was a victim in one of the most highly publicized Olympic scandals in 1994. Back then Kerrigan was Tonya Harding’s main competition when it was discovered Harding’s husband hired a hit man to break Nancy’s leg before the Olympics.
The film “I, Tonya” focuses on Tonya Harding as she rises through the U.S. figure skating ranks until her boyfriend/future husband throws her career into doubt. If there were one person who we think could give some inside information on the story, it would be Nancy.
[SOT: Would you have offered your advice if they had reached out?
Nancy: It’s not about me. That’s not about me]
Fair enough, but they could have at least maybe made a phone call?
