On Tuesday, President Trump took aim at the New York Times on Twitter.

On Tuesday, President Trump took aim at the New York Times, tweeting a link to a New York Post article titled, "The New York Times’ Ongoing Dishonesty Only Helps Trump.”
He also wrote, “The failing @NYTimes would do much better if they were honest!”
In the piece, columnist John Crudele expresses his low opinion of the Times at large and alleges that the publication likely has the information to verify Trump’s claim that he was wiretapped by Obama, but is declining to share it.
Over the past months, the New York Times has reported on an abundance of matters involving Trump, and those that appear to challenge his veracity, executive decisions, and leadership abilities are often met with disparaging tweets from the president.
Following its late January publication of an editorial titled, “Trump's Muslim Ban is Cowardly and Dangerous," Trump tweeted, “Somebody with aptitude and conviction should buy the FAKE NEWS and failing @nytimes and either run it correctly or let it fold with dignity!”
A February piece carrying the headline, “Trump and Staff Rethink Tactics After Stumbles,” appears to have elicited the Twitter comment, “The failing @nytimes writes total fiction concerning me. They have gotten it wrong for two years, and now are making up stories & sources!”
While Trump has called the New York Times ‘FAKE NEWS’ on a number of occasions, he has targeted other news outlets as well.
Those include CNN, NBC, and, sometimes, the media or the press in general.
