President Trump has made a habit of branding news reports he doesn’t care for as ‘fake.’
On Thursday morning, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ fired a shot back, calling Trump’s term “a fake presidency.”
Prior to that statement, she and co-host Joe Scarborough went through a list of statements coming from the White House that have reportedly been inconsistent or untrue.
Brzezinski commented, "You have Kellyanne spreading alternative facts, saying things that aren’t true...you have Miller describing the powers of the presidency in an incorrect, inappropriate and lying fashion."
Soon after, she noted, “It’s a fake presidency.”
That same morning, Trump fired off a series of tweets condemning the media and characterizing its reporting as fraudulent.
One read, “FAKE NEWS media, which makes up stories and ‘sources,’ is far more effective than the discredited Democrats - but they are fading fast!”
That was soon followed by, “The Democrats had to come up with a story as to why they lost the election, and so badly (306), so they made up a story - RUSSIA. Fake news!”
