Jeppe’s mother is now in a relationship with Rasmus, his head teacher, who has moved in to the house. This raises a number of issues for Jeppe, especially the disturbing sounds coming from the bedroom next door when David spends the night with him. When it is raised at a parent-teacher progress meeting that his school work is deteriorating, he blames this on Rasmus being in the house and the difficulties that this is causing.
