Newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci insists that President Trump is far from being elitist, and his love for burgers and pizza proves it.

President Trump campaigned as a champion for the regular American, but many have questioned how, as a billionaire and member of the elite, he could possibly understand the struggles those in the lower income brackets face.
Newly appointed White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci insists that Trump is far from being elitist, and his love for burgers and pizza proves it.
He gave that defense after BBC reporter Emily Maitlis asked, “What part of Donald Trump is not elite? The business side, the politics side, the inheritance side?”
Scaramucci responded, “Oh my god, there’s so many things about the president. How about the cheeseburgers, how about the pizzas that we eat?"
When Maitlis pointed out that, “Everyone eats cheeseburgers, pizzas,” Scaramucci accused her of, “coming across a little bit elitist.”
Though far from compelling, Scaramucci’s defense of the president was based in fact.
Trump has been incredibly open about his love for fast food, and McDonald's in particular, reports the New York Times.
He’s also shared pictures that show him eating fast and casual restaurant classics, like a taco bowl salad.
However, with an estimated north worth in billions, he is a very rich man.
Since becoming president, Trump has seemingly gravitated towards those with equally astounding wealth, assembling the richest Cabinet in U.S. history.
