東京海洋大学名誉博士でタレントのさかなクンと水中写真家の中村征夫が９日、東京・銀座で行われた中村征夫写真展『永遠の海』内覧会イベントに出席した。
この写真展は、ミクロネシアや沖縄のサンゴ、東日本大震災で受けた未曽有の被害からよみがえりつつある三陸海岸の海など、中村が国内外の海に潜り撮影した作品の中からおよそ１３０点が展示されている。８月２１日まで松屋銀座で開催される。
頭にかぶっているハコフグの帽子がトレードマークのさかなクン。フグの写真を見つけると「ギョギョ！かわいいですねぇ。自分もフグは飼っています」と興奮した様子。さらに「（フグは）海の中ではカニやエビなど硬い物を食べて歯が伸びるのを防いでいるので、水槽の中だと、硬いエサを与えないと歯がどんどん伸びちゃうんですよ」と豆知識を披露した。
中村とは一緒に海に潜ったり、本を出版したりと親交の深いさかなクン。中村が「これは（ニューカレドニアで）一緒に潜ったときの写真。あの時は楽しかったね」と明かすと「あの時のですか！？うれしいですね。ひょっとしたら、同じ景色を見ていたかもしれないですね」と思い出を懐かしむようにコメントした。
