At 18 years old, Nasra Haji Hussein has become Somalia's first female car mechanic.
With an elderly father and sick mother, Hussein needed a job to support her family. After months of searching, she was hired at a service garage in Mogadishu, in what is traditionally a male-dominated field.
Two years after she was ridiculed when she first started, Hussein has regular customers and earns enough to support her family. She now uses social media to encourage young Somalis to further their education and find work.
Recently, Hussein spoke to a crowd of 20,000 at a TEDx event. Today, she continues to challenge gender stereotypes in her country.
