A woman is becoming a single mum by choice at 41 - and refuses to "compromise" on a man just so she isn't alone.

Natalie Lovejoy has always wanted to be a parent and had expected she would meet a partner and start a family.

But after not meeting 'the one' she decided to go it alone so she didn't "miss out".

She booked a 'fertility MOT' in January this year and her levels came back normal for her age.

00:00I want to be a mum. So you're probably thinking, okay, cool. All right, what's the story here?
00:12The story is I am super single. I have been most of my adult life. Everybody told me I'd
00:17meet my person. That hasn't happened. So 2024 is the year that I am looking to become a
00:25mum. I don't know how yet. I don't know what my options are. But this is a journey that I'm going
00:31to be taking solo. Another comment that was quite common was, you know, that I'd be denying a child
00:51father, go out on a date. But believe me, I've tried. I'm exhausted and I'm over it. And there's
00:58no reason I can't do it on my own. Now, don't get me wrong, I am under no delusion. This is going to
01:04be hard, especially as a solo parent. But, you know, I'm prepared to take it on. I'm choosing
01:10to take it on. I'm 41. I've lived, I've travelled, I've experienced things. This is the next thing
01:17that I really want to experience. There's nothing to say women can't do it on their own.
01:23I've been doing it for years.
