A Spanish woman who claims she is the daughter of Salvador Dali is in fact not, acccording to a DNA test.
María Pilar Abel Martínez claims her mother gave birth to her in 1956 following an affair with the surrealist artist. She filed a paternity suit and would have been entitled to part of Dali’s estate had her claim been confirmed.
Dali was exhumed in June after a court decision and DNA samples taken from his remains. The painter’s foundation said on Wednesday that the resulting tests prove that Martínez was not a blood relative and put an end to what it calls “an absurd and artifical controversy.”
