00:12A Eurostat research found almost 11% of people in the EU were unable to keep their house warm enough.
00:21The highest shares were reported in Spain and Portugal,
00:25almost 21%, followed by Bulgaria, Lithuania and Greece,
00:31while the lowest rates were found in Luxembourg, Finland, Slovenia, Austria and Estonia.
00:38The most vulnerable social groups are single parents with children,
00:43almost 19% of them struggle with low temperatures in their households.
00:49Mediterranean nations are the hardest hit, with peaks of 42% in Cyprus, 34.5% in Greece and 34% in Spain.
01:01Single females are the second most vulnerable group,
01:05with a rate of 14% unable to stay adequately warm,
01:11with the worst rates in Bulgaria, Portugal and Lithuania.
01:16Individuals with two children reported the lowest rate of people facing this issue at almost 8%,
01:24with Switzerland having the lowest rate in Europe at 0.2%.
