A section of Mount Kinabalu collapsed today due to continuous rain and strong winds.
Local officials said no one was hurt and there were no material damage in the 5pm incident, which happened about 1.5km from the nearest building.
The section had collapsed into the Mesilou river area, near an old resort which was shut down due to damage sustained during the Mount Kinabalu quake on June 5, 2015.
Sabah Civil Defence Department acting director Lft Kol Mohd Izaimi Md Daud said officials had been sent to assess damage and speak with villagers after receiving a report at 5.45pm.
