Ingredients:-
1 kg. Rawas (Indian Salmon)
For marination:-
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Turmeric powder
2 tsp. Oil
Juice of ½ a lemon
For Curry Masala:-
2-3 tbsp. Coriander seeds
7-8 Dry Red Chillies
1 cup Coconut, freshly grated
Water
For Fish Curry:-
5-6 tbsp. Oil
1-2 tsp. Mustard seeds
Curry Leaves
1 tsp. Coriander Seeds
2 tbsp. Garlic, finely chopped
2 onions, finely chopped
Salt, to taste
1 tbsp. Lemon juice
Method:-
1. Marinate the fish in the marination ingredients for 10 minutes.
2. In a pan heat oil and shallow fry the marinated pieces of the fish.
3. Once the fish is fried transfer it onto a paper towel.
4. In a mixer/grinder, grind the curry masala ingredients to a smooth paste.
5. In a kadhai heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander seeds, garlic and onions. Cook until the onions are soft.
6. Then add salt, masala paste and stir until it starts boiling.
7. Add water and once it boils add the fish to it.
8. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
9. Turn the flame off and squeeze lemon juice on top.
10. Garnish with red chilli powder, coriander leaves and serve.
Delicious Fish Curry is ready to eat!!
