THIS is a look at the new viral trend that is taking the internet by storm.
The trick, which is performed by jumping with one foot while keeping the other still to replicate a “stepping” action, has gained mass online popularity.

While a small minority seem to have effortlessly mastered the trick, others fail hilariously, with some tripping over their own feet and others just falling straight over.

Anderson University football player Dontez Hines and Manvel High School cheerleader Ariel are among the select few who have managed to pull it off.
The move dates back a while, with some users on popular site Reddit questioning how it can be achieved.

In a video posted on YouTube, dancer Marcos Grados, from Guadalajara, Mexico, also manages to incorporate the move in to one of his routine.

One of the first known recordings of the trick has been viewed nearly 900,000 times.Men’s Health fitness editor Ebenezer Samuel broke the move down, explaining: “All [the] hip stabilisers on the right side are firing on overtime to hold that hip in position.

“You'll notice [the] body rotates toward the leg on the step as well; there's a ton of oblique and ab stability maintaining that position.

‘”Very explosive hip flexor, abdominal and glute strength is what is driving the leg up and over the box.”

In recent years, viral trend videos have become increasingly common.

Other recent popular challenges include the “Ice Bucket Challenge”, “Planking Challenge” and the “Cinnamon Challenge”.
