Mikhal was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. She began studying composition and songwriting in 2009 at Rimon College of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel. In 2011, she continued her studies at Berklee College of Music where she studied with a number of renowned teachers in the Boston area, including Marti Epstein and Pangiotis Liaropoulos. In May 2014, she graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.Mus in composition and conducting. She was recently named one of GO Magazine's 100 Women We Love of 2015.
Mikhal has had her music performed by various ensembles, such as the Zodiac Trio, the Triple Helix Trio, the Esterhazy Quartet, the Kalistos Chamber Orchestra, and the ALEA III Chamber Orchestra
Mikhal's many musical projects have included composing original works for chamber choirs, a commission by the ALEA III chamber orchestra and an album of modern folk music. In May of 2012 she received the NFMC Hatz Special Recognition Award and in May 2013 she received the Berklee Jeromimas Kacinskas Award.
Today she curates the Kava Musik concert series, co-produces community arts events for Salomé ArtHaus, and performs with her band at venues across New York. She is recording her debut album, 'Daughter of the Sea', to be released in May 2017
