Poi was formed as a continuation of a cover band formed by singer Yonca Pehlivanoğlu Koskos and guitarist Ekin Koskos. In 2012, the band wrote their own songs and arranged them with composer and record producer Reuben de Lautour. The recordings, edits and mastering were made in Babajim İstanbul Studios and Mastering, one of the most prestigious studios in Turkey. The album consists of 9 pop songs with r&b, funk and jazz influences. The music and lyrics were written by Poi. The mixes were made by Mike Nielsen while the mastering of the album was made by Pieter Snapper.
Poi's debut studio album, which is characterized by acoustic guitar riffs, strings, strong rhythms and unique vocal scores, was released in 2015 with the label of 3 Adım Müzik.
