So this is the part where I’m supposed to introduce myself right?
Ok, here goes:
My name is Chico Muya and the first thing you ought to know about me is that I love music! I’ve been in love with music for as long as I can remember. Staying up late to bathe in the beautiful sounds of talented artists has always been a part of me.
I am a singer-songwriter based in Durban, South Africa.
I express myself best through rhythm and carefully crafted poetry expressed in song. Having people identify with something that has come from your very soul is a wondrous feeling. I have found that it’s that mysterious connection that makes writing songs so much fun!
People have compared my music to Jack Johnson, Ben Howard and John Mayer (to name but a few). These comparisons are understandable because, more than anything, the sound of the acoustic guitar strikes closer to home for me. I enjoy keeping things simple but I’m always open to try new things!
So this is just a little bit about me. I hope you enjoyed it.
