On Tuesday, Reuters reported that eight northeastern state have sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to force it to impose more strict rules on a group of Midwestern states. The northeastern states claim that air pollution is being blown in their direction from the Midwest. The lawsuit asks the EPA to add nine states in the Midwest to the congressionally created “Ozone Transport Region,” which requires stricter pollution controls.
