‘The Walking Dead’ Star Promises ‘Catharsis’

“The Walking Dead” star Andrew Lincoln — who plays Alexandria’s stalwart leader Rick Grimes — said that although saying goodbye to his onscreen son Carl (Chandler Riggs) was “sad,” this one was different than other character deaths. With Carl’s impending death looming, fans and cast members will get to say goodbye to the popular character, which gave Lincoln a sense of “catharsis.” I thought Chandler did a remarkable job, as he always has done, but particularly in this episode.
