An emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) was caught in a raging storm in the North Sea during a three-day operation in January.

Although the ship was battling rough waves, it’s built to withstand this kind of weather. The crew member who shot the footage said he wasn’t fazed by the fierce elements. “We have all seen much worse weather than this, which is why we are taking it all in our stride,” he said.

The ERRV crew’s job is to perform sweeping search-and-rescue operations for ships and platforms in trouble.
