Directed by 'Gandhi My Father' fame Feroz Abbas Khan, it's a political satire movie starring Satish Kaushik and others.
With the tagline of 'A Belly Full of Politics', the movie is a spoof on the Indian political scenario of present times in search of the religious identity of a poor man who unfortunately got crushed to death under a huge hoarding of a politician, played by Satish Kaushik. What follows next is a mysteriously funny and yet horrifying battle of two religious groups trying to claim the man's body as their own.
The basic plot was based on a real-life incident, and fortunately, the writer-director had ensured to deliver an effective content to the audience, with a perfect blend of humour and serious drama.
Also the direction done by Feroz Abbas Khan, who returned back after a big gap of 7 long years, was apt and striking enough to amaze the viewers, especially the blend of sound and images.
However, there was one small hitch. The first half was outstanding enough to impress anyone, but the second half was equally weak to depress anyone. It was dragging and filled with few pot-holes, which sooner or later was making one lesser interest in the movie.
The major plus point here is the dialogues, which is quite commendable and appreciative. And thus with the combination of a decent screenplay and impressive dialogues, the movie makes a worth watching for the cinegoers.
Moreover, as it's a content oriented movie, it can't be said as a performance oriented movie. But overall, every actor had played their part very well and had justified their characters.
If considering the expectations from Feroz Abbas Khan's previous acclaimed movie 'Gandhi My Father', then 'Dekh Tamsha Dekh' is relatively disappointing. One can say that a good content got wasted due to weak second half and few non-impactful portions. However, for the fresher's it would be quite interesting to watch a dark humour drama based on a realistic incident.
On the whole, this Tamasha is a worth Dekhofy for its gritty drama and dark humour.
