According to Senator Ed Markey, there is evidence that Facebook violated a consent decree, and should face fines and regulation.
The Massachusetts Democrat also called on the Federal Trade Commission to step in.
The senator called for the FTC to stop Facebook from tracking user activity on other websites, after they logged out of Facebook.
