Author Who Captured America's Zeitgeist Dead At 87

Author Tom Wolfe, who captured the mood and culture of America across five decades, has died. He was 87. His books including “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” “The Right Stuff,” and “The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test." Wolfe had a knack for coining phrases such as “radical chic” and “the me decade." According to his agent, he died on Monday of an unspecified infection in a New York City hospital.
