Senza Senso

  • 6 anni fa
The Italian band Equipe 84 was a most daring band in alternating chart hits to some experimental tracks in creating the 1973 album "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". It contains a rather strange instrumental: "Senza senso" (a rough translation is "makes no sense"). No videoclip has ever been done... until February 2015. This has been an initiative and collaboration between filmmaker Angelo Pone and original guitar player Claes Cornelius appearing on eccentric guitar. While the clip's location is Copenhagen, the original 1973 audio recording comes from Milano.

Equipe 84's guitarist and producer Maurizio Vandelli had in his creative mind to record a guitar track radically different from his own style for "Senza senso"; and this where Cornelius comes in. He was known for two albums - Blues Right Off in 1970 and Venetian Power in 1972. What he typically played was anchored on very electric Blues music. That recording session was to be a chore as Vandelli didn't like what he heard. A final try by Cornelius was as wild as what you see in the clip. Donatella Bardi graces the first part by her leading backing vocals and Maurizio Vandelli conceived and produced an Equipe 84 title defying definition.
